Virgos got this heads up a couyple of weeks ago
It seems like every time you sneeze Mercury is going retrograde. It’s a wonder anybody gets anything done. And it doesn’t make you feel any better to hear some astrologers screaming, “Don’t travel! Don’t meet any new people! Don’t sign anything” Don’t begin new projects!”
So obviously the only sensible course of action is to pull down the shades, draw the curtains, turn off your phone and sit quietly in your darkened room until Mercury changes direction at the end of the month.
Is that totally insane or what?
Reality demands much more of us. First of all, it is not a bad time to travel at all, provided, and this is a big one, that you NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER try to predict what will happen on your trip.So control freaks, take tranquilizers before you leave the house, unless you go with an open head and an open heart and have absolutely ZERO expectations about what is going to take place.
Then you could have the experience of a lifetime.
As far as new people are concerned, Mercury retrograde is perfect for family, high school and college reunions and running into old pals you’ve been out of touch with,Sometimes you run headlong into total strangers you want to marry the first second you lay eyes on them. Chances are, however, that when Mercury goes forward at the end of the month, they will not be part of your everyday life, and may not come closer till Mercury goes retro again five months later.
Making deals and signing contracts often do turn up during retrograde Mercury, whether the time is right or not. Golden opportunities could turn a little green after a while, but if you have to sign, then sign.
Just know that all the facts are not in and there are bound to be changes and amendments to the contracts at a later date.
So then, crawl out of bed, turn the phone back on, draw open the curtains, pull up the shades and go on living.
Midlife Transits also has a good point:
Don’t worry about it. Seriously. Apple launched the iPhone during a Mercury retrograde and it’s still around. Doing fine. Hasn’t exactly taken over the world, but close. You may not take over the world either, but you’ll do fine too. Mercury retrograde is the least of September’s problems astrologically. Save your worries for other things.
I love it when they say, "Don't start anything in MR!" We start SCHOOL here during MR.
I had NO problems whatsoever. The only issues I had were with getting picked up- in one case being in the wrong spot, and in the other case, well,...drama erupted.
Basically, my weekend went along the lines of this:
Play With Pressure Cookers At Your Own Risk.
Taurus Is Getting Slammed.
Well, I've printed out two of my Southwest tickets online (I lost one last time I flew- but then they were all, "Eh, we'll print you out another one."), printed out the confirmation number, wrote down the "what to do if your flight is canceled" number, signed my cell phone up to get alerts as to the flight status...
I think that's about the best I can do ahead of time. Too bad getting there early (or really early) is probably going to be impossible, given that my ride to the airport is perpetually late. I should get there around 9:45 a.m. at the latest, and I'll be lucky to make it into the goddamned security line (which is ginormous at the airport I fly out of, not so much the other one) by then and run to the terminal.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Apparently today is worse than usual.
I mentioned the computer problems I'm having. Now a bunch of stuff JUST GOT DELETED. Including a list of things I specifically said I had to SAVE.
Oh, for chrissake.
Apparently the answer to this is YES.
*eye-roll*
SOMEONE (which is to say, both parties here) does not understand the concept of Dead To Me.
- If someone gets dumped during Mercury retrograde, does that mean the dumper will be coming back?
(I wasn't the one dumped, for the record, I'm just the fallout girl. I keep telling the dumpee NO, he isn't coming back, but during an MR, who knows for sure exactly?)
2. Bleah on having work computers upgraded during MR. Took for-bloody-ever to get things changed over. As far as I could tell, the computer guy had to do the same routine three or four times per computer. And now something else isn't working, but computer guy is too overloaded to deal with it. (Update: the problem fixed itself, but the computer guy reconfigured the program so freaking awkwardly I can't even figure out how to fix that. Ugh.)
3. I dunno about the "you're not supposed to travel during MR" thing. Never ran into a lick of trouble, traffic, or so much as a car crash traveling this weekend. The only lateness going on was my mother, the Queen of Late, but she can't get her crap together even during Mercury direct.
I'm going on vacation during Mercury retrograde. Can't be helped- I very specifically cannot go earlier or later than that particular week.
Argh. Guess we'll see what disasters blow up on me. Let's hope it ain't the plane.
(I am reading a book on guess what right now.)
Normally MR doesn't do squat to me because I have it natally and thus those periods are like "normal" to me, but if it's really affecting all transportation, that might screw me because it's screwing everyone else. Ugh.
