I off-and-on read this guy's website. I am not into everything he discusses (the diet stuff, eh, no thank you), but sometimes he has some very interesting thoughts. And he is certainly right on the sleep cycle thing, 'cause I've done it.
Anyhoo, he's decided to go polyamorous for the New Year. The Internets are all in an uproar about this, as god knows everyone is whenever someone mentions non-monogamy. Someone commented on his forum that this might be due to a Uranus transit to his Venus. Steve helpfully provided his birth time. I was curious- he always seems to operate in some kind of Uranian experimental phase- I wanted to see what he had.
So: he's Aries with Sag rising/moon. Hm, somewhat of a surprise, but not really. Sag loves the brainy stuff. And Uranus in Libra would explain the relationship experimentation somewhat.
His north node is in Aquarius, so I guess that really fits him to experiment (especially with money, since he posts about that a lot)- it's his life mission to figure that stuff out for humanity.
I do wonder how it will work out for him a bit- the guy has Saturn in the fifth, which might hamper the Sag/Gemini-ness/free lovin' in his chart- but I guess we will see.
So, I got to meet a local celebrity from my hometown the other day. It was great fun- he's known for having the blingiest house at Christmas you have ever seen, and I got to tour the house. Huzzah!
So as I'm reading his website later, he happened to mention his birthday (the day before mine! Wow, I know a lot of April 23rd birthdays), AND the place of birth and time!
Yeah, I had to look.
He's a double Taurus (shopping, shopping), with a Sag moon (like me, hah), and URANUS RISING! That just cracked me up big time. He's in a very hierarchical profession/religion, but has the big ol' Sign of the Weirdo right front and center. With a north node in Leo (flashy!) in the fourth house...yes, he has a flashy house. (Interestingly enough, Chiron is conjunct the NN. I wonder what that means to him to do a flashy house with that aspect.) He's also a Venus Saturn person...a Catholic deacon sworn to celibacy.
Amusingly enough, my mother told him the next day that I'd seen we had nearby birthdays and he was all, "Taurus! Stubborn, likes to shop..." Believe me, if you've seen his house, you KNOW that. He must be really fun to go shopping with. Huh, I should meet the man more often. :)
I get really, really annoyed at hearing, "The Moon in your chart is your mother, that's what your mother was like." Or alternately, "The Fourth House is just how your home life was like."
Um. NO. Not for me, anyway. My mother is not remotely Sagittarian when it comes to nurturing. Other than being talkative, that's about it. We didn't travel a lot, we were not an intellectual family, we were not weird (I have an Aquarian 4th house) in upbringing. My home was NOT free-wheeling or intellectual or roam-y. I came out like that, but nobody else was. So while that might be how I end UP, in a free-wheeling intellectual house, that's NOT where I come from. At all.
Huh. I have no fifth house either, nor does a friend of mine.
The fifth house is said to be the house of creativity, though curiously almost no artist, writer or musician in my database of 887 such people had a planet in the fifth house. Clearly, if you do not have a planet there, you need not worry that you aren’t creative. What does seem to count is planetary aspects to the planet of Jupiter.
In checking this same database, eighty seven percent of musicians, writers and artists have two aspects to Jupiter.
I've only got a sextile to the sun for my Jupiter, though.
2. Jupiter-ruled relationships.
If you have a Sun/Jupiter connection, your essential essence is tied up in the creative process. Whether you are an administrative clerk or a symphonic musician, for you creativity is the breath of your being.
Jupiter is prominent in your chart when (natally) it makes a connection to a personal planet -- Sun, Moon, Venus or Mars. This can be any energetic connection -- square, trine, sextile or opposition. Jupiter really makes you crazy when it forms the 150-degree angle aspect called an inconjunct to one of these planets. Then you swing back and forth between loving and hating the guy!
Sagittarius is marked in your chart when one of the four personal planets mentioned is in the sign of the Centaur. Regardless of the way Jupiter or Sagittarius manifests in your chart, your innate sense of personal freedom leads you to choose partners who manifest the same ideals.
Even if you were to get your Sagittarian/Jupiter lover to settle into a permanent relationship, you need to be aware that restlessness is part of the package. One Sagittarian Moon man who is settled into his long term marriage describes it as being locked in a cage. Its not that he doesn't love his wife. He does, absolutely and without reservation. But itchy feet is part of his astrological heritage, and sometimes he expresses a desire "to get away from it all." Be prepared to provide steady doses of spontaneity and playfulness in your mutual daily routine, and don't protest too much when he goes out for a newspaper and doesn't return until seven hours later. He needs his freedom to be who he is, and when you realize it, you do, too. That's what Jupiter-ruled relationships are all about.
Found this and thought, "Finally! That explains everything!"
Um, yeah. Especially the mother bit (see below):
Sagittarius moon people have need for attention, support and social interaction from their loved ones. Their mothers kept the focus of the family on themselves, so consequently the fire signs expect the same for themselves. They are great fun to have around, but the upkeep is sometimes more than other people can handle.
Oh lord yes, that's mine right there.
Pisces moons, have need for emotional support and intimacy that most people have a challenge providing. Their emotions run scary deep and they think in terms of emotional content instead of the intellectual. Relationship with mom is complicated and fraught with emotional perils. Then you meet her and find she is a perfectly delightful individual. The water sign moons need harmony in their home life to function properly. Continual upsets and disruptions in routine will make them a basket case. They fall in love with love quite often, thinking they need a partner. They do need a partner, to keep feeding them love and kisses so they can venture out into the cold cruel world. If you love one of these moons, you enjoy the absolute wholeness of total love surrounding you, but you also get to experience total misery when you do not give them what they want.
